Part 4: Acknowledgement, Compliance, and Permission to Enter the Property

This is the last in a four-part series from the ECC discussing the permit application for major projects.

The last part of the permit application deals with acknowledgement, compliance and a permission to enter the property form.

Page 4 has statements for the homeowner to read and understand. After each statement is read, make sure you check the box beside each of these acknowledging you have read it and understand it. Make sure each one is checked even if it doesn’t pertain to your project. This page will then need to be signed by the homeowner, dated and the homeowner will also need to print their name.

Page 5 is for Acknowledgement and Compliance. On this page you need to read each statement and then initial each after it has been read acknowledging you understand the statement. Make sure each has been read and initialed even if it doesn’t pertain to your project. The homeowner needs to print their name, sign and date it at the bottom of the page.

The last page is a Permission to Enter Property form. This allows the Environmental Control Commitee access onto the property to do visual inspections of the project, measurements of the plans presented with the application packet and to document progression of the project itself. At the top of this form, it needs to be dated, the permit number should be left blank due to one not being generated until the application is approved. The homeowner’s name, address, section and lot number and phone number are needed plus, the type of project being performed. This form will need the homeowner’s name printed and signed at the bottom.

This concludes our discussion of the permit application for major projects. Please note that ECC members are available for questions a homeowner may have in filling out or even in what documents need to be submitted with a permit application. The ECC is here to serve the community and to help with the permitting process at every step!
